9/20 - 9/24 OES News

We had another great week @ OES, and next week is shaping up to be another with homecoming activities sprinkled throughout.  Our homecoming "Spirit Week" will consist of fun days for the students.  See below:
Monday Put Fairfield to rest. Wear PJs
Tuesday Sock it to Fairfield. Wear funny/goofy socks
Wednesday Put a cap on Fairfield. Wear caps/hats
Thursday Make 'em sweat. Wear sweats/warm-ups
Friday Osky Pride Wear Osky gear.
We plan to have some level of PBIS celebration on Friday whether it is an assembly or a building-wide celebration is yet to be determined, but students will know soon!

Continue to monitor your child's backpack as daily communication is occurring in your student(s) planner(s).  We want to maintain that strong bridge of communication from school to home and home to school.

As the weather continues to be unpredictable, make sure your child has the appropriate apparel to keep themselves warm and dry.

Lastly remind your child to model respectful, responsible, safe, and caring behaviors in all areas of the school and the community.  They are doing a stand up job in the school, and we hope to continue all the positive momentum and build on our behavioral successes.

Thank you for your support!  Together we can achieve greatness!

Respectfully,

Mr. Manning

9/13-9/17 OES News

We have had another great week at OES!  "Parent Pride Night" was held on Monday the 13th, and we had a good turnout with hopes of having a better turn out next year.  The parent feedback we have received has been positive, and they said it will be beneficial this year as they support their children.  Thank you to those of you those who attended, and please get ahold of your child/children's teacher if you'd like more information.

NEWS From the Athletic Department:
The Oskaloosa Indians have a home football game this Friday.  ALL ELEMENTARY STUDENTS SHOULD BE ATTENDING THE GAME WITH AN ADULT.  The school district requests that all elementary students that attend football games find a place to sit during the game.  We ask that students do not play football or run around behind the bleachers.

If an administrator has a problem with a child, parents will be notified and the child will not be allowed to attend games in the future.

Please come to the game, but act in an appropriate manner that supports the Oskaloosa Indians.

Free Jungle Safari:
There is a free jungle Safari at the Penn Central Mall, and there are llamas, monkeys, and even a cub to pet.

REMEMBER:
Continue to remind your child to show you their planner on a daily basis, dress for the inclement weather, clean out their backpacks daily, and model Respectful, Responsible, Safe, and Caring behaviors.

Respectfully,

Mr. Manning
